Original release - 2007

after the night falls provides a quiet symmetry to before the day breaks. The albums were recorded together and released the same day, not as a double album but as two separate releases. Each of the nine songs share common or opposing elements, with an entwined poetic structure to their names. The pieces are not quite variations on a theme, in part because many of them eschew a melodic path completely.

In places, after the night falls is quieter and more structured than before the day breaks, but the overall differences are subtle.

The listener might to seek to discover which of these two albums should be listened to first, but as evidence perhaps by their covers, they are two halves on an endless cycle.
